Both as a Summer Intern and now as a Grad I have found the Consulting team culture to be collaborative, supportive and fun, where real diversity of thought is encouraged and celebrated.
My conversations with people I met throughout the recruitment and interview process made PwC an intuitive choice for me. Each senior member of the team I met with seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a person and helping me to determine which part of Consulting I would best fit into, as opposed to focusing on my credentials.
Due to PwC’s trusted brand in the market we have the opportunity to work with the biggest clients and companies both globally and within New Zealand. This often means that the nature of the problems we’re challenged to address, especially within the Consulting team, are sizeable and have the ability to affect the lives of many New Zealanders. I have personally found that having the opportunity to use my skills to help resolve these problems has made work a meaningful experience for me.
Something I particularly enjoy about Consulting is the unique view we’re often provided with in regards to how companies operate. Even as a Graduate, I have had many opportunities over this past year to sit alongside the executive team of a company and discuss their operations ideas for growth etc. and through this process I’ve had my opinions genuinely considered.
I have really enjoyed the variety of work on offer within the Management Consulting team and the ability to develop my own skills further by working across the wider Consulting team. Over this past year I have worked across the health, government and private sectors resolving a range of issues from operations to culture to IT. No two days are the same, and I enjoy the challenge that working across multiple projects brings.
Both as a Summer Intern and now as a Grad I have found the Consulting team culture to be collaborative, supportive and fun, where real diversity of thought is encouraged and celebrated. Whether we’re coming together to work in small high-performing teams, or socialising as a peer group or wider group. At PwC there is always a focus on building genuine relationships with the people around you, which has made work this past year a truly enjoyable experience for me.
